Wakefield Trinity is delighted to announce the winner of the ‘Name our East Stand’ supporters vote is Rugby League World Record points scorer Neil Fox MBE.
Neil, Trinity legend and member of the RFL Hall of Fame, represented the club on 574 occasions and earned 29 International caps for Great Britain. Now yet another honour can be added to his tally, Trinity fans have voted to grace our new East Stand with his name, gaining 60% of the vote.
During the 1960’s Neil played a key role in helping Wakefield Trinity to 3 Challenge Cup final victories and 2 Rugby League Championship Final successes, earning a World Record of 6220 career points that will never be surpassed.
Club Owner, Matt Ellis said: ‘As the top points scorer in Rugby League history, it is an honour and an inspiration to have Neil Fox as such a big part of our club history. He is a true rugby league icon, who I wish I could have seen playing at Belle Vue. He is a worthy winner, thanks to everyone who voted.’
