Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation is delighted to confirm that our Winter Series programme will be launching this November.
Following the great success in both the Summer and Autumn, we are pleased to reintroduce the programme, with games against Salford Red Devils on the horizon next month.
The series, which invites boys in year groups 10 & 11 to develop their skills in a unique environment, sees players situated across the whole country come to take part, starting with local clubs such as Crigglestone and Stanley all the way to Gateshead Storm in the Northeast.
A programme which started in 2021, our ‘Rugby League Series’ have always delivered, with young participants hoping to make their mark within a professional setting. Over the past few years, multiple players have surfaced through our development programmes, with many being offered scholarship places for the following season.
As it’s our first Winter Series, players from both the Summer and Autumn programmes will now be invited back for special training sessions and games, as they continue to play the sport in the off-season.
Speaking on the success that we have had over the past year, Rugby League & Inclusion Officer, Charlie Doherty, said, “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring back our Rugby League series for the Winter months.
“Following the start of the Summer, we have seen a huge growth in both numbers and skill level, and as a Club & Foundation, we are keen to continue this.
“We are looking forward to inviting everyone back over the next couple of weeks and getting our teeth stuck into some games.”
