Wheelchair RL showcased at Inclusion Round

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation is delighted to showcase our up-and-coming Wheelchair Rugby League programme as part of our Inclusion Round.

Launched in 2021, it was the Wheelchair RL World Cup, which was the catalyst for our recent success, gaining over 10 regular participants at the back end of 2022, and continuing to gather momentum into 2023.

From there, the side started to hold regular training sessions every Monday & Friday night from Denhale ARC Sports Centre, increasing our numbers and looking to host regular games.

It didn’t take long to achieve this goal, staging our first-ever game against Sheffield Eagles earlier this year, playing them multiple times in 2023 as well as an Inclusion Festival in York last month.

However, now, we look to showcase this incredible side once again as they make their way around the pitch at half-time of our Men’s game against Warrington Wolves on Sunday.

We can’t wait to see our Wheelchair side on Sunday & urge everyone in attendance to show them your appreciation.
