Trinity visit Pinderfields hospital

Before Christmas, members of the Wakefield Trinity first-team squad took a special visit to the children of Pinderfields Hospital as we continued our fantastic partnership with My Hospitals Charity.

To lift the spirits ahead of the festive period, the coaching staff, players & Daddy Cool went around the hospital wards, distributing toys, teddies and selection boxes to those who would be spending the Christmas period within Pinderfields.

Upon their visit, children & adults were invited to talk and ask questions to their favourite players, with photo opportunities also available. This was a fantastic initiative to raise the spirits and give something back to the local community.

Throughout December, the Club asked for the support of fans through the donation of selection boxes and dried/tinned food items which could be donated, with much of the food heading the way of Wakefield Street Kitchen for their Christmas food bank.

With the dust now settled, the Club & Foundation can’t thank both Pinderfields and My Hospitals Charity for the opportunity to work with and visit such a special group of people.

Speaking on the visit, Head of Foundation, Mark Brennan, said, “We were delighted that this drop was given the green light back in December.

“Just walking round the wards and seeing the children’s faces light up when they saw the players next to their bed was an unbelievable feeling and we hope that we spread some joy just before Christmas.”
