The Red Shed Rugby League Legends Event

On Saturday November 17th, Mike Rylance and Mal Reilly MBE will be delivering a talk as part of the Red Shed.

Mike Rylance, Rugby League writer and historian will be the first up at 1pm at the Wakefield Labour Club (The Red Shed). Mike will deliver a talk about his new book that focuses on French Rugby League. In the year that Catalan Dragons won the Challenge Cup Final, this well respected writer and francophile will deliver his analysis and answer questions on the state of the game here and across the channel.

Mike’s book “The Forbidden Game” is widely regarded as a sporting classic and his History of Wakefield Trinity is essential reading for any Trinity Fan.

Following on from Mike, Mal Reilly MBE will talk about his long and extremely successful career in Rugby League. Tough and skilful as a player; progressive and successful as a coach; Mal was awarded the MBE for services to Rugby League. He will be interviewed by Brian Lockwood and Ian Orum who knew him as teammates and as a coach. This promises to be a rare event for fans of Rugby League Heritage.

Entry is free, though there will be a collection for the Rugby League Benevolent Fund.
