Priestley pens Trinity deal

March 5, 2022

Wakefield Trinity Ladies RL is delighted to confirm the signing of Libby Priestley for the 2022 season.

Starting at Oulton Raidettes, Priestley was selected to represent Castleford Tigers Women at the age of 15 before attending an England programme from under-14s to under-18s.

After playing for the Tigers in 2021, Priestley took herself away from Rugby League to pursue a career within a different route, however, after circumstances changed, the 17-year-old is delighted to sign at the Be Well Support Stadium.

“I am pleased to be signing for Wakefield, they have made some positive signings and I’m hoping to be able to add to that.

“I came to Wakefield on a trial basis, having been in contact with one of the coaches here. Everyone gave me a warm welcome and it’s been like I’ve been here for a long time.

“The coaching staff were amazing with me, and I know some of the players from playing at Oulton Raidettes, so I’ve just fit straight in.”

Priestley’s first run-out of 2022 will come in tomorrow’s pre-season friendly with Salford Red Devils, which you can follow on the Ladies’ social media accounts.
