Daryl Powell has named his 21-man squad to take on Newcastle Thunder on Sunday 18th February (KO: 3pm).
The game will be Trinity’s second AB Sundecks 1895 Cup group game having already beaten York Knights 40-4 to put Wakefield in a commanding position and make them favourites to top the group.
Taking place at Featherstone Rovers’ Millennium Stadium, the game is set to be a great celebration of Rugby League in the North East and we are calling for as many fans to travel across and help support not only Wakefield but Newcastle as well.
Powell has made four changes to his squad that played against Siddal in the Challenge Cup.
Jermaine McGillvary, Luke Gale, Josh Griffin and Thomas Doyle all drop out of the team with Powell looking a more youthful route.
Young hooker, Harvey Smith is in line for his first action of 2024 and is favourite to rotate the nine position with Liam Hood. Noah Booth recently joined the club with a view of playing with our reserves but after some impressive training performances, he is given a chance to potentially play while Cain Staveley-Carr and Amir Sgahier round out the squad.
Tickets are still available for the game both online here and in the Trinity club store in the Ridings Shopping Centre.
