Wakefield Trinity is thrilled to announce the signing of New Zealand forward Isaiah Vagana on a 2-year deal.
The club have moved swiftly to capitalise on amendments to visa requirements to allow UK clubs to acquire outstanding young overseas talent.
Isaiah, 23 certainly has the correct pedigree being the son of the legendary Joe Vagana the Bradford Bulls and New Zealand International prop forward. He stands at 6’3” tall and tips the scales at over 16 stones.
He has progressed through the New Zealand Warriors squad since 2020 and has recently been on the fringes of his NRL debut.
His career started at the Mount Albert Lions junior club in NZ and he represented the Junior Kiwis International team in 2019. Last season he played 24 games for the Warriors in their NSW cup side at both prop and back row.
Vagana will take the squad number 19 shirt for Trinity in 2024 in an increasingly powerful forward pack in what is sure to be an exciting and successful season as Wakefield Trinity strives to take the Championship by storm and return to the Super League at the first attempt.
