Wakefield Trinity takes on Toulouse in round five of the Betfred Super League as we look to bounce back from last week’s defeat to Leeds.
Ourselves
Another try from Tom Johnstone and Max Jowitt softened the blow last week, as Leeds came out on top in round four’s clash at the Be Well Support Stadium.
Spirits are high in the Trinity camp, however, and head coach Willie Poching will be bolstered by a few returning faces in the camp as Reece Lyne and Liam Hood return. Morgan Escare’s signing was complete in the week, as he returns on a two-week loan spell from Salford.
Trinity welcome the French side for the very first time after their promotion last season and will be looking to gain a vital first victory of 2022.
The Opposition: Toulouse Olympique
A positive performance against undefeated Wigan will have given French side, Toulouse, much confidence as they head over to West Yorkshire.
Like Trinity, Super League’s newest addition are still yet to register their first win, falling to Huddersfield, Warrington, Salford and the Warriors in recent weeks.
Points are a guarantee tonight, though, and Sylvain Houles’s side won’t make it easy for Poching’s Trinity come to kick off.
