Lawford Heads To Halifax On Loan

November 10, 2025

Myles Lawford will head to Betfred Championship side Halifax Panthers on loan for the entire 2026 season.

The 22-year old has found game time tough to come by at Wakefield after recovering from an ACL reconstruction with the halfback spending time in 2025 on dual reg with Batley Bulldogs and in Trinity’s Reserve grade side.

Kyle Eastmond’s Panthers side finished 5th in the Championship last season before upsetting Oldham in the playoffs to reach the Semi-Finals where they faced up against a powerful York Knights side who ended Halifax’s season.

Wakefield’s Director of Rugby, Ste Mills said: “A season long loan for Myles to Halifax gives him some valuable game time and allows him to grab hold of a team and become a main half back. This is a vital step in Myles’ development and I’m very excited to see how his time with Kyle Eastmond goes.”
