Caleb Hamlin-Uele has committed his long-term future to Wakefield Trinity signing a five-year extension that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2030 season.
The extension comes 12 months to the day from Hamlin-Uele’s last new deal which would have seen him stay at Trinity until 2027 but following a stellar 2025 Super League season Wakefield have moved quickly to reward the forward and tie him down for longer.
At 26-years old, Hamlin-Uele was a revelation to begin the year for Trinity cementing himself in the starting lineup and pitching in some incredible performances against some of the league’s most formidable packs.
A nasty shoulder injury caused the Glenora Bears junior’s first year in the top flight to end after 15 games but Hamlin-Uele is ready to hit pre-season and return healthy in 2026.
Since joining Wakefield, Hamlin-Uele quickly became a fans favourite and over his 44 appearances so far has rarely put a foot wrong in Red, White and Blue.
With his long term future secured, Caleb Hamlin-Uele said: “I’m really happy to be staying at Wakefield for the next five years! Trinity’s Head Coach, Daryl Powell said: “Caleb has been an outstanding part of our pack for the last two seasons. His ability to carry the ball and offload alongside being a really solid defender will make him one of the best front rowers in the competition over the coming seasons. I’m delighted he has decided to extend this contract and look forward to working with him over what I am confident will be a really successful period for our club.”
Wakefield’s Director of Rugby, Ste Mills said: “A long term deal for Caleb was an easy decision for the club to make. He had an unlucky year in 2025 with injuries but when he did take the field, he was top class. We believe he will become one of the best front rowers in the competition in the coming years.”
