Joe Shaw receives Season Ticket donated by Brian and Pat Williams

Joe Shaw has been chosen as the winner of the 2021 Season Ticket, which was kindly donated by Brian and Pat Williams.

At the beginning of the month, Brian and Pat decided to kindly donate a season ticket and give it away to a front line worker as recognition for the tremendous work they have undertaken in the past year. After deep consideration by the Chairman, the winner of 2021 Season Ticket is massive Trinity fan, Joe Shaw.

Joe was nominated by his partner Siobhan for his unbelievable hard work during the Covid-19 pandemic, in particular when it first hit in March.

As an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP), Joe worked within surgery, helping place people to sleep via general anaesthetic alongside an anaesthetist. Because of his anaesthetic training, when covid hit, he was redeployed to St James Intensive Care Unit, where he spent over four months helping to care for some of the hospitals sickest patients and working outside his normal scope of practice, something he is immensely proud of.

Joe has recently taken a break from his role in the NHS, though possibly will return one day. He is a massive Wakefield fan and loves nothing more than taking young son Ezra, alongside his own Dad, to watch his beloved Trinity play.

We would like to thank each of you that sent your nominations in, and every nominee was outstanding. The Club will be giving a 2021 Season Ticket to all six of the other nominees, in recognition of their tremendous work fighting Covid-19.

The six other nominees were:

Katherine Redpath

Beth Louise Hurley

Darren Ball

David Haigh

Mickey Reeve

Nick Humpleby
