Wakefield Trinity Community Trust are the club’s official Charity and work with over 18,000 people, largely children and young people, across the Wakefield district and surrounding regions annually.
Their projects vary in scale and link to their priority pillars of Physical Activity, Health, Education, Inclusion and Heritage.
Over the last two years the Trust has seen significant growth in both turnover and workforce, with the latter about to develop even further with the recruitment of three key roles.

Schools Partnership Officer
Salary: Competitive
Closing Date: 12pm – 8th July 2019
As a Schools Partnership Officer you will support and deliver a range of PE & School Sport activities within local schools and work closely with the SSP Partnership Development Manager to effectively build and maintain relationships with schools and other organisations.
Taking a holistic approach to developing children you will work closely alongside school staff and SSP coaches to improve pupils’ knowledge and understanding of, and competence in, Numeracy, Literacy and Enterprise.
You will be required to develop learning resources, deliver and evaluate interventions and contribute to the delivery of whole school activities such as PSHE themed assemblies and collapsed curriculum days.
You will have a direct impact on enhancing young people’s lives through sport and education.
During school holiday periods you may be required to work across other Trust departments supporting a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver the P.E & School Sport themed strands of the SSP Programme.
- Encourage young people’s enthusiasm and participation in Sport and Physical Activity, in particular their longer term participation in their chosen sport.
- Liaise with a number of partners across a range of schools.
- You may be required to work Wakefield Trinity home match days, evening work, weekends and Bank holidays when instructed by the Trust’s Head of Charity.
- Work as part of a coaching team on the school sport programme, liaising with; teachers, parents and volunteer coaches to ensure the ongoing continuation and expansion of locally based activities.
The type of experience we are looking for:
- Knowledge of the P.E. curriculum.
- First Aid certificate
- UKCC level 2 coaching qualifications or equivalent
- 1st4sport/afPE Level 2 or 3 in supporting PE and school sport (or equivalent)
- Safeguarding & Protecting Children certificate
- Understanding of how to use the brand of Wakefield Trinity as a motivational tool to inspire young people.
Along with the relevant experience the post holder must possess excellent communication, time management, organisational and administrative skills.

Fixed Term – 24 months (to July 2021)

- Rugby League and generic sport/skills coaching in Primary Schools
- Rugby League Coaching in High schools
- Delivery of the Sky Try project targets through school delivery
- Delivering school / club Rugby League Festivals
- Community Club development
The type of experience we are looking for:
- UKCC Level 2 Coaching Qualification in Rugby League
- Experience of Rugby League coaching
- Experience of organising events
- Experience of Community Club Development work
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and individually
- Understanding of how to use the brand of Wakefield Trinity as a motivational tool to inspire young people.
Additional duties for the Wakefield Trinity Community Trust as requested by your line manager, may include;
- Attendance at all core Wakefield Trinity Community Trust events including Wakefield Trinity match days.
- Attendance at Wakefield Trinity Community Trust camps and summer activities outside of term times as required by line manager.
