Job Summary (The main purpose of the job) 

Wakefield Trinity Rugby League Club is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, charismatic and dedicated Head of Media.

Reporting to the CEO, working as a key member of the Club, this role is pivotal in ensuring that the highest standards of communication and information are relayed both internally and externally. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Management of digital and social media output
  • Creation of official stories on the club website
  • Working on projects to generate income 
  • Work alongside our Club Videographer to create video content for the club’s platforms
  • Promote and support the delivery of the Club’s key events
  • Generate press coverage for the Club’s work
  • Daily liaison with local and national media outlets
  • Editing of our monthly magazine
  • Managing any press/media enquiries
  • Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate for the role

Key skills: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Good attention for detail and proof-reading skills 
  • Understanding of different social media platforms and tone of voice 
  • Experience of using content management systems 
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines 
  • Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative 
  • Creative and ability to identify newsworthy stories 
  • Excellent IT skills including use of Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop and Elements 
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise work load and multi task.
