Wakefield Trinity are looking for a Videographer & Creative Media Lead to take the club’s storytelling to the next level.

Over the last 18 months, our content output has set the standard across rugby league in the UK. Since our return to Super League, we’ve led the way in how a club documents its journey, authentic, cinematic, and deeply connected to our supporters. We’re now looking to push the envelope even further.

At Wakefield Trinity, we believe in the power of storytelling to engage our fanbase. We believe in showing the graft, the ambition, the people, and the moments that define this club. Because we see huge value in this, we’re offering what we believe to be one of the strongest packages in the industry for a role of this type.

About The Role

This is a videography-first role, with the creative influence and responsibility of a senior content lead. You’ll be the person behind the lens, in the edit, and driving the ideas that shape how Wakefield Trinity is seen across the sport.

We want a storyteller. Someone who can spot moments before they happen, bring fresh ideas, and create content that fans feel emotionally connected to. Someone who understands the culture of elite sport and can translate it into powerful, modern, engaging media.

You’ll be creating

  • Short-form social content that captures personality, humour, emotion, and the heartbeat of the club
  • Long-form storytelling pieces that take fans inside the journey. The glory, the setbacks, the breakthroughs.
  • Commercial content that feels premium, engaging, and aligned with our brand
  • Marketing and promotional material for ticketing, retail, hospitality, and club campaigns
  • Creative assets that strengthen the Wakefield Trinity identity across all digital platforms

You’ll also be responsible for

  • Bringing new ideas and creative concepts to the table
  • Helping lead the club’s creative direction and content strategy from a videography perspective
  • Planning, shooting, editing, and delivering high-quality video content
  • Building relationships with players and staff to capture authentic, natural moments
  • Managing content workflows and ensuring consistent output across the season
  • Upholding and evolving the club’s visual identity

Working Across the Club

This role sits at the heart of the organisation. You’ll work closely with:

  • The Commercial Department to deliver partner activations, sponsor content, and contractual media obligations
  • The Marketing & Design Team to support campaigns, ticketing pushes, retail launches, and ensure all creative output aligns with our corporate identity
  • The Web & Systems Team to ensure content is delivered effectively across digital platforms, websites, and club channels

You’ll be a key creative voice in shaping how Wakefield Trinity presents itself, ensuring every piece of content is consistent, high‑quality, and unmistakably “Trinity”.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • High-level videography ability, with a strong portfolio of cinematic, engaging, story-driven work
  • Expert editing skills (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar)
  • Strong storytelling instincts, understanding how to build emotion, narrative, and personality.
  • Able to shape a season‑long narrative, capturing key themes while developing smaller storylines around players, matches, and moments.
  • Creative thinking, bringing new ideas and formats to elevate the club’s output
  • Confidence working with players, staff, and fans, capturing natural, authentic moments
  • Ability to plan, shoot, and edit independently, managing projects from concept to delivery
  • Experience producing content for social platforms, understanding trends and performance
  • Strong understanding of brand identity, ensuring all content aligns with club standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, especially around matchdays
  • Good organisational and timekeeping skills, managing workflows, deadlines, and content calendars
  • Ability to shoot in multiple styles, documentary, cinematic, commercial, and social‑first
  • Strong understanding of lighting, audio, and multi‑camera setups
  • Confident operating professional camera equipment across a range of environments
  • Ability to deliver high‑quality footage in fast‑paced, live, and unpredictable situations
  • Experience developing visual treatments or creative concepts for series‑based content
  • Experience using social media scheduling and management tools (e.g., Hootsuite) to plan and deliver content effectively.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in sport or a club environment
  • Motion graphics or basic graphic design skills
  • Drone operation (licensed or willing to work towards it)
  • Photography skills

Collaboration & Communication

  • Must work effectively with all areas of the club, understanding their needs and delivering content that supports the clubs shared objectives.
  • Must engages confidently with our fanbase, capturing their passion and ensuring supporters feel represented in our content.
  • Comfortable taking creative direction, but equally confident contributing ideas

Personal Qualities

  • Creative, curious, and full of ideas
  • Confident engaging with fans, players, and partners
  • Comfortable being visible around the club, camera in hand, capturing moments
  • Passionate about storytelling and sport
  • Collaborative, open, and easy to work with
  • Someone who genuinely cares about producing great work
  • Committed — this isn’t a 9–5; you’ll be expected at all fixtures and club-led events
