As the club continues to grow both on and off the field, we are delighted to offer a unique opportunity to join our medical department in a newly created combined role.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Therapist who is confident in leading a department independently, while also contributing to the wider medical needs of the club.
Contract Details
Contract Type: Fixed-term until October 2027 (end of next season)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours: Full-time – Due to the nature of professional sport, working hours will vary weekto-week in line with training and match schedules.
Example Weekly Schedule:
- Monday: Morning session + administration
- Tuesday: Afternoon/Evening (training)
- Wednesday: Off
- Thursday: Afternoon/Evening (training or match)
- Friday: Morning session + administration
- Saturday: Training +/- match (full day)
- Sunday: Off
Reporting Structure
Reports to: Medical Lead / Club Medical Management
Supervises: Scholarship Therapists, Women’s Team Therapists, Students
Roles & Responsibilities
Clinical:
- Medical lead for pitchside trauma management at all Academy and Reserve training sessions and matches
- Main medical point of contact for Academy and Reserve squads
- Provide assessment, treatment, arrange investigations and rehabilitation for Academy/Reserve squads.
- Second opinion where required for Scholars/Women’s squads.
- Maintain accurate medical records in line with club and professional body standards
- Communicate player injury status and management plans to relevant parties
- In conjunction with the Club Doctor, oversee and deliver concussion management tasks (e.g. SCAT, Cognigram)
- Occasional support to First Team, Scholarship, and Women’s departments as agreed with the Lead Doctor or Lead Physiotherapist
Non-Clinical:
- Take a leading role in club-wide medical administration, organisation, and operational management
- Supervise and support therapists within Scholarship and Women’s programmes
- Oversee aspects of RFL medical requirements (e.g. medical mouthguards, cardiac screening, audits) as agreed with the Lead Doctor
- Contribute to player education and internal CPD delivery
- Maintain up to date mandatory training as per RFL medical standards.

- Degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Rehabilitation, or Sports Therapy – E
- Relevant professional body membership and insurance – E
- IMMOFP or Level 3 Trauma Qualification (or equivalent) – E
- Eligible to work in the UK – E

- Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience – E
