YPO joins as Principal Inclusion Rugby League Partner

November 27, 2025

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation are delighted to announce YPO as our new Principal Inclusion Rugby League Partner, as part of a four-figure deal.

YPO are a publicly-owned central buying body, who have been serving schools, emergency services and local authorities with procurement frameworks, supplies and services since 1974.

Operating from its Wakefield headquarters, YPO’s range includes more than 20,000 products and 100 frameworks.

The Foundation’s partnership with YPO will further support our reach and growth within Inclusion Rugby League across the Wakefield District.

The support from YPO will allow the Foundation to provide free taster Rugby League and Multi-Sports sessions to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) schools.

YPO-branded balls and bibs will also be distributed to our partner schools, ensuring the resources for young people to play Rugby League following our delivery blocks.

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation Social & Inclusion Lead, Jack Pemberton, said: “It’s amazing to welcome YPO on board as the Principal Inclusion Rugby League Partner given their standing as a major organisation in our local area.

“This partnership will allow us to provide free taster sessions to local SEND schools and distribute equipment to leave a Rugby League legacy in those schools and keep that participation going.

“We’re really grateful to Simon, John and the rest of the team at YPO for their support to get this partnership up and running. Hopefully this will be a long-lasting partnership for both parties.”

YPO Managing Director, Simon Hill, added: “We’re really excited about this partnership with the Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation. Partnerships with local organisations such as the Foundation are really important to YPO and it’s something that we’re putting a huge investment into over the next year.

“The partnership with the Foundation works really well for ourselves, as a well-established Wakefield company for more than 50 years, alongside a commitment to encouraging sporting activity and engagement among young people.

“In particular, we wanted to engage with young people who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities and SEND needs have the access to physical education opportunities. This partnership is really aligned with the ambitions of both yourselves at YPO and the Foundation.”
