Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity will resume their annual Wetherby Whaler Festive Challenge on Boxing Day at Emerald Headingley on 26thDecember, kick off 11.30am and are hoping to attract a bumper crowd as families get the chance to come back together this Christmas.
Tickets to go on sale from Monday 20th September.
To give a little back to our Red, White & Blue faithful, the Club will be buying tickets for the fixture and donating one to each of our 2021 members! To take advantage of this, take your 2021 season card into the Ridings Club Store from Monday and simply swap it for a ticket! This must be done by the end of October.
The game will be a fantastic occasion with both Wakefield and Leeds fans keen to see their new stars in action for the first time. Trinity’s line-up could feature Tom Lineham, Lee Gaskell and Liam Hood for the first time, whilst Leeds have brought in Blake Austin, Aidan Sezer and James Bentley.
Looking ahead to the game, Trinity winger Tom Johnstone said, “I played my first Boxing Day game back in 2013 and I really enjoyed it. Fans of both teams come out in their numbers for the occasion and it always creates an exciting atmosphere. Our fans in 2021 have been brilliant and with the Club donating a ticket to them for this fixture, we’ll hopefully get as many on the terraces as possible.”
