Leeds Rhinos have released the below information regarding Boxing Day, with confirmation that capacity will be reduced to 9,999. Trinity fans can still buy tickets from the Ridings Club Store, but NO TICKETS will be available on the day.
Leeds Rhinos have announced that, in light of recent Government recommendations under their Plan B regulations, they will voluntarily reduce the capacity for Headingley Stadium for the Wetherby Whaler Festive Challenge on Boxing Day against Wakefield Trinity to 9,999.
The club have already sold 6,500 for the traditional friendly clash, which kicks off at 11.30am. There will be limits on all remaining standing and seating positions and there will be no option to purchase tickets on match day – it will be advance purchase only.
Our seated capacity will not exceed 6,000 and our standing capacity will not exceed 3,999. The remaining tickets for this match can be booked now at tickets.therhinos.co.uk or by calling 0371 423 1315. Leeds Rhinos 2021 and 2022 Members can still access the member’s discount on their own ticket up until midnight on Christmas Day. This is subject to availability.
The concourse areas will be controlled so that there will be fewer than 500 spectators standing indoors at any time.
There will be no requirement to show vaccination status or a recent negative test to enter the stadium. However, the club reminds all spectators are responsible for ensuring they and everyone in your party has read the below and if any of their party have experienced any of the Covid 19 symptoms within the given timeframe, then we ask that you DO NOT travel to our stadium on match day
Leeds Rhinos Operations Director Sue Ward said, “Our first priority is always the safety of our spectators, players and staff. I would like to thank our local authorities here in Leeds who we have been working with since the new Government legislation came into place so together we can find a solution that ensures Headingley remains a safe venue for our spectators to come and visit. Here at the Rhinos, we encourage all our fans to follow the advice to get their booster and take steps to stay as safe as possible over the coming weeks. As an outdoor venue, we are looking forward to welcoming supporters back to the stadium for some fresh air on Boxing Day and will be doing everything possible to make sure they can enjoy their morning at the rugby together with their loved ones.”
TESTING AND VACCINATIONS
As it currently stands, we will not require fans to undergo tests or provide COVID vaccination certification prior to entering Headingley Stadium.
We recommend fans take a lateral flow test in advance of match day to ensure they are free of COVID-19 before attending.
FACEMASK AND FACE COVERINGS
All supporters aged 11 and over will be legally required to wear a face covering when located in all indoor areas, other than when eating or drinking, or where they are exempt. Face coverings are strongly recommended when brushing past others, or when moving in or around the stadium outside in close proximity to others such as when entering the ground.
CLEANING
Please ensure you continue to wash your hands regularly and/or use the hand sanitiser provided.
Leeds Rhinos will continue to undertake regular cleaning of all public spaces including bars and toilets throughout match day.
‘LESS CROWDED’ AREAS
We have kept aside some ‘less crowded’ areas, so should you wish to move to those areas of the stadium on match day to watch the game, please speak to a supervisor or ask at our Ticket Office and we will organise that for you.
TRAVELLING TO THE STADIUM
Please ensure however you choose to travel to the stadium you do it safely and where possible, sustainably. Turnstiles will open at 10am so please allow extra time to arrive early at the stadium and help with the safe entry for all spectators into the ground.
We ask that all supporters and visitors treat all staff and club officials with respect as we introduce these new restrictions. Abuse or threatening behaviour towards staff or club officials will not be tolerated.
Fan Information for all match attendees will be published 7 days ahead of the fixture at tickets.therhinos.co.uk and all fans entering the stadium must adhere to the Stadium Ground Regulations – a copy can be found via tickets.therhinos.co.uk/GroundRegulations.
