Wakefield Trinity Ladies have continued their recruitment ahead of the 2019 Super League season with the signing of Australian, Caitlin Clifton.
The Coaching Staff have been particularly busy during the off-season as they look to build a squad capable of making the step-up to Super League, with Clifton being the latest to come on board!
Clifton is most comfortable at stand-off and will look to guide the team around the park, as well as prove a running threat with the ball.
“It feels really good (to be part of the squad for next season),” admits Clifton.
“I had no idea what to expect when I came and I arrived a little bit blind. But I’m very eager to get involved.
“To be playing in the elite competition of Super League is absolutely amazing. When we decided to make the move to the UK, it was with that in mind. It’s a complete life change, scenery change, job change and I’m looking forward to going 100% at it to achieve my goals.
“I’m a very level-headed player. I like to play hard, I like to play tough and I love to have fun when I’m playing. I’m good at making strategic decisions on the field but also love to run with the ball, too.”
Head Coach Wayne Hirst added: “We’re delighted to have Caitlin on board for 2019. She will really add to the squad both on and off the field. It’s going to be a big challenge playing in Super League next season, but myself and the rest of the ladies are excited by the challenge.
“Caitlin is one of a number of new faces in the squad for next season and we’re all looking forward to the start of it.”
