Tupou and Lyne commit their futures to the club!

Wakefield Trinity are delighted to announce that Bill Tupou and Reece Lyne have both extended their stay with the club!

Tupou will remain in the Red, White & Blue until the end of 2022, whilst Lyne has signed until the end of 2024!

Both players have been stand outs in Chris Chester’s side over the last few years, with Bill being selected for the Super League Dream Team in 2018 and Reece getting called up to the England Elite Squad.

Lyne, 26, signed for Trinity ahead of the 2013 season and has gone to make over 150 appearances for the club, scoring 50 tries!

And Tupou, 28, was brought in midway through 2015 and has developed into one of Trinity’s most consistent players, featuring over 90 times and scoring 35 tries!

The centre duo are looking forward to what the future holds for Trinity and are both targeting trophies in the next few years.

“I’m very happy to be extending my stay here at the club,” says Tupou.

“The team is growing in confidence and getting stronger year by year. I’m just looking forward to hopefully getting a bit of silverware in the next few years for the club.”

And Lyne backs that up, whilst also calling Trinity his ‘home’.

“I’m over the moon to get the deal signed,” said the Trinity number 4.

“It was a pretty straight forward decision. I love the club and the fans have been brilliant during my time here too. I’m determined to play a part in bringing a trophy to this great club in my time here. I class this club as my home.”

Trinity Head Coach, Chris Chester, added:

“It’s great news for the club that both Bill and Reece have signed new contracts. They’re both a massive part of the squad and have been getting better and better each season. They’ve been reaping the rewards for their performances over the years, with Reece getting in the England squad and Bill being selected for the dream team. Bill was in devastating form before his injury and we’re really pleased we’ve now got him back. To have them both commit their futures to the club is excellent news.”
