Trinity X Dance-A-Thon raises funds for Candlelighters

We are delighted to confirm that Wakefield Trinity X & DanceXplosion’s first-ever Dance-A-Thon raised over £3000 for Candlelighters, in memory of Isla Greenwood.

Throughout Isla’s continuous battle, Candlelighters provided support for Rachel, Matt and her brother, Max, throughout all of Isla’s treatment, ensuring that she could experience all the joys of spending time with her family. As well as family life, Isla was a keen dancer, turning up to every session no matter what, giving her all and putting smiles on faces.

That’s why, Wakefield Trinity X, DanceXplosion & the Community Foundation teamed up together to host a 12-hour Dance-A-Thon in Isla’s name, inviting over 45 participants throughout the day to take part in party games, workshops and even a special appearance from Daddy Cool.

With a steady flow of participants throughout the day, smiling faces and a party atmosphere was the order of the day, with everyone showing their support for a special occasion.

All proceeds raised from the event will now go straight to Candlelighters as they continue to do fantastic things for children battling Cancer, offering them the opportunity to continue their work in this field.

Speaking on the event, organiser, Jodie Travis, said, “We were delighted with the overall outcome of the Dance-A-Thon yesterday.

“With it being the first time we have organised something like this, I wanted to make sure that it was executed effectively and everyone had a good time, but most of all, some money was raised.

“To collect over £3000 for Candlelighters is an incredible achievement, and I cannot thank everyone enough for making the day what it was.”
