Trinity selection box donation gets the green light

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation will be donating to My Hospitals Trust this Thursday ahead of Christmas.

Over the last few weeks, the Club & Foundation has been urging fans to drop off selection boxes at both the Ridings Club Shop & the Be Well Support Stadium to donate to those children who will be spending the holiday season at Pinderfields Hospital.

Donations will be dropped off by first-team players and staff, who will spend some time at the hospital between 2pm and 4pm on Thursday, visiting different wards of the hospital to spread some festive cheer to those who really need it most.

The rest of the food donations collected will then be taken to Wakefield Street Kitchen as they continue to provide to the homeless over the Christmas and Winter months as we carry on our fantastic partnership with Anna & the whole team.

Speaking on why the Club & Foundation has decided to help those in need over December, Head of Foundation, Mark Brennan, said, “This is a cause really close to our heart. To give something back to the community in this way is extremely important and we can’t think of a better way to do it.

“Using the club’s brand, we hope to have a positive effect on the community in every way possible.”

Keith Ramsay, Chairman at The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, followed, “We would like to extend our gratitude to the Wakefield Trinity community for their generous donations.

“Patient care and experience are priorities for our Trust and, judging by the smiles on the faces today, this kind gesture certainly went some way towards achieving this.”

The donation box at both the club shop and the Be Well Support Stadium is still open and we urge all supporters to donate what they can.
