Wakefield Trinity are delighted to announce that Tony Gigot has signed for the club until the end of 2021!
The former Catalans Dragons man has a wealth of experience at Super League level and joins Trinity after a period at Toronto Wolfpack earlier in the season.
Gigot’s signing bolsters Trinity’s backline with his ability to play at fullback, centre and halfback.
The French international has an impressive CV which boasts a Lance Todd Trophy from Catalans’ 2018 Challenge Cup Final winning season.
Speaking on his move to the Mobile Rocket Stadium, Gigot said: “I’m really happy to be here..”
“I received a call from my manager and he said Wakefield would like to speak to me, so I spoke with Chris and Michael and it’s a great club to come to.
“(With the lockdown) it’s been a long break for me and I’m just happy to get a chance to be back on the field and helping Wakefield Trinity.”
Chris Chester admits he is “over the moon” to get Gigot over the line.
“To be honest, I’m over the moon because he’s a player that I have admired over the last few years.
“I tried to sign him when I was at Hull KR and when we found out he was going to be available again we jumped at the chance.
“I can’t thank the club enough for making the deal happen.”
