Wakefield Trinity Head of Youth, Ben Lazenby said: “We are delighted to be launching this programme for the players who have the highest long term potential coming through the Wakefield Trinity Youth system. It allows us to spend more time with this group and individualise their development. By adding this additional development layer into the pathway we will springboard these players of potential closer to making Super League debuts. It also acts as a bit of a reward and incentive for all of the players in the Academy to work hard, improve and demonstrate their potential. Movement between the Accelerate group and Scholarship, Academy or Reserves should be fluid and players aspire to be moved into the group and retain their place.”
