Trinity extend Official Partnership with Wakefield College

We are delighted to have renewed our partnership with Wakefield College, who are the clubs Official Education Partner.

The close partnership has been in place for some time, with a number of Trinity’s Academy  players doing courses at the College alongside their training commitments.

Mark Applegarth, Head of Youth at Wakefield Trinity, said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Wakefield College which has been in place for a number of years now.

“We place a lot of value on our young players education and Wakefield College are an excellent partner. This ensures players are receiving a great education to go alongside their rugby commitments.

“It is important players don’t put all their eggs in one basket and have options available to them that allows them to excel away from rugby league. We have had players do apprenticeships, A levels and BTECs and a number of players have continued their education whilst still playing for our 1st team which is great to see.”

Amy O’Keefe, Head of Curriculum: Sport and Public Services from Wakefield College, added: “Wakefield College is proud to partner with Trinity’s Academy to support young players in their education alongside their playing careers. Education is at the heart of closing the gap in opportunities for our communities, regardless of a person’s start in life, and we’re delighted to support this initiative.”
