Trinity Academy Sign Elite Rugby Star

October 9, 2017

Wakefield Trinity are delighted to announce the signing of 18-year-old packman Titus Gwaze.

The Zimbabwean born Gwaze joins us from Halifax Elite Rugby Academy where he has spent the last two years under the guidance of the Greenwood brothers. Having recently represented the England community lions we are looking forward to seeing Titus taking his chance within a professional set up.

He initially caught the eye of Head of Youth Mark Applegarth with some good performances within the Elite College League against Wakefield College Category Three side who Trinity are partnered with.

Head of Youth Mark Applegarth said ‘We are delighted to offer Titus the chance to earn himself a full time professional contract by playing in our U19 Academy this year. The Elite college league is getting better year upon year and there is some untouched talent there.

“Titus performed well against our Cat 3 team and on watching further videos was consistent in these performances all throughout the season. He certainly carries the ball with intent and puts some big hits in. His challenge now is doing that in a more competitive environment but I am sure he will take his chance”.
