Just over a week to go until Walk with Wakey gets underway.
Chairman Michael Carter and a number of staff and supporters of Wakefield Trinity will be walking to The John Smith’s Stadium on Friday July 27 to raise money for the Community Trust.
The walk from The Mobile Rocket Stadium to the John Smiths Stadium is approximately 16 miles (25 kilometres) and is likely to take 5hrs to complete.
There is still time to take part in the trek, if you would like to help raise funds for the Wakefield Trinity Community Trust then please contact James Stephenson on 01924 211 611 or email: james.stephenson@wakefieldtrinity.com Under 18 year olds must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Each participating individual will need to contact the Club for a sponsorship pack; this includes all the information that you will need for your “Walk with Wakey”. All sponsored walkers will receive a standard match ticket for the fixture that evening and we kindly ask you raise try and £100 (or more if you can!!)
We are delighted that Barclays have kindly offered to match fund the “Walk With Wakey”, which we are completely grateful for to help raise much needed funds for the Community Trust.
James Stephenson commented, “After last year’s great effort by all the sponsored walkers, we really look forward to this walk again to the John Smiths Stadium, and we hope to have plenty of our great fans join us.
“It is paramount as a charity that we look to raise funds in all different ways to sustain our community development work in and around Wakefield. It is becoming more of a challenge to secure “bigger grants” from awarding bodies and I believe that in house fundraising serves a vital role in raising further awareness by promoting our charity”. James continued “I can’t thank Barclays enough for their support in match funding what we aim to raise, this a huge boost for us and we owe Stuart from Barclays a great deal of gratitude!”
