Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation is delighted with the up-take on our most recent food pantry collection at Sunday’s game against Warrington.
To support the work that St. Swithun’s has been doing for the community over the past few years, the Foundation & Club bonded together to set up an appeal for the food pantry on Sunday, asking supporters to bring in any dried or tinned food they had spare at home.
Over the course of the afternoon, we managed to bring together over three crates full of items, including pasta, tinned produce, sweets, biscuits and cleaning products.
Now that we have everything to hand, we dropped off the items earlier this week to make sure that the community is as best equipped as possible to look after themselves with the cost of living crisis.
Speaking on the donations, a member of St. Swithun’s said, “Thank you so much for organising the Food Pantry donation collection at this week’s match.
“We are truly humbled and grateful for the generosity of the fans, and anyone that donated. The donations will give our members the opportunity to personalise their experience with us, here at The Community Pantry in Eastmoor.
“The donations have greatly increased the choices available to members. We would like to thank you all again for helping our amazing project.”
Wakefield Trinity & the Community Foundation would like to thank everyone who donated food at our home game against Warrington for their continued support of the community.
