Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation are delighted to announce that Sensory Packs are now available to supporters on matchdays at the DIY Kitchens Stadium, further improving accessibility and inclusivity at the ground.
The Sensory Packs seek to provide a calmer experience to supporters with additional needs to ensure that they can enjoy the matchday experience to the fullest. With the aid of the items provided, our aim is to reduce supporters’s sensory overload in an environment which can become stressful, agitating or anxiety-inducing.
The packs will provide supporters with a bag containing essential items including:
- Ear Defenders
- Sunglasses
- Stress Balls
- Fidget Toys
- DIY Kitchens Stadium Map
- Breathing Exercise Cards
- Activity Sheets
- Small Pen
- Emerging Contact Cards
The Foundation would like to thank our Partners, Farrar Bamforth Architecture, YPO and Medequip for their support in supplying equipment for the Sensory Packs.
Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation’s Social & Inclusion Officer, Matilda Hazell, said: “We’re delighted to expand our Inclusion delivery with the provision of Sensory Packs at our home matchdays.
“Here at Wakefield Trinity, we want to ensure that all supporters can have a thoroughly enjoyable matchday experience at the DIY Kitchens Stadium, including for those with additional needs.
“Our thanks go to Farrar Bamforth Architecture, YPO and Medequip, for their support in this process and their continued backing of the Wakefield Trinity Inclusion department.
“We look forward to seeing the Sensory Backs positively benefitting the matchday experience for supporters through the 2026 season and beyond.”
The first set of Sensory Packs will be available from Wakefield Trinity’s Betfred Super League clash against Castleford Tigers on Friday 24th July (8pm kick-off).
The Packs are for free for supporters with additional needs and are available on a first-come first-served basis.
