Roy Ibbotson RIP

Wakefield Trinity were so very sorry to hear of the passing of lifelong supporter Roy Ibbotson.

Roy first attended a Trinity fixture in the 50’s when he was just 10 years old and even become a supporters coach driver.

He attended the legendary Watersplash Final and was a good friend to both Neil and Don Fox.

Watching Trinity on Boxing Day was one of his favourite days, wearing a new ‘Wakey’ scarf and smoking a Boxing Day cigar, a tradition the family hope to continue.

Over the last few years, Roy has enjoyed watching Wakefield games from the Juice Personnel Executive Box and he will have been delighted to see his love of rugby league now instilled in his family, including his grandson Joshua who plays for Shaw Cross.
