Wakefield Trinity are saddened to learn of the passing of lifelong fan, Ray Brown.

Ray has followed the ups and downs of this club since the 1960’s and travelled across the country to support the club home and away. Ray, and his wife Diane, particularly enjoyed their yearly trip to support Trinity against Catalans in France. Ray will be well known to many Trinity supporters and also to staff in the club shop when he would call in to book on the coach to away games.

Sadly Ray lost his battle with cancer on December 6th and his funeral took place just before Christmas.

 The Club meant that much to Ray that he even had a Trinity flag on his coffin and Club colours for his flowers.

 In his will, Ray had a couple of wishes in relation to the Club. He has made an extremely generous gesture by leaving the Club £5,000. Ray also requested that his ashes were to he scattered at Belle Vue.

Wakefield Trinity CEO, Michael Carter, said: “I’m extremely saddened to hear about Ray. Whilst I didn’t know him personally, Ray was clearly Trinity through and through and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

“His donation is a magnificent gesture, and we will look to honour Ray with a plaque within the ground. My sincerest condolences go out to his wife Diane and all that knew him.”
