Wakefield Trinity can confirm that Tyler Randell ruptured his medial knee ligament against Leeds Rhinos in the Wetherby Whaler Festive Challenge on Boxing Day.
Randell is expected to be on the sidelines for a minimum of 12 weeks and will be visiting a specialist in the New Year.
Head Coach Chris Chester commented, “It is a disappointing blow to lose Tyler, he has been training exceptionally well over pre season. We initially thought it could have been a season ending injury but fortunately further tests have revealed that the injury is not as bad as first feared.”
