Novus Health joins as Foundation’s Principal Women & Girls Rugby League Partner

November 20, 2025

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation are delighted to announce Novus Health as our new Principal Women & Girls Rugby League Partner as part of a four-figure deal.

Novus Health provide quality local healthcare services in partnership with the NHS to the people of Wakefield through their three hubs in Pontefract, Normanton and Wakefield city centre.

The partnership with Novus Health will further support the Foundation’s mission to grow the Women and Girls game across the Wakefield District.

Led by Women & Girls Player Pathway Co-Ordinator and Women’s Head Coach, Jacob Holmes, our Pathway ensures opportunities for players at every step of their journey.

From RugBees, Community Outreach, Secondary School Rugby League, the ASUS Emerging Player Pathway and the Girls Development Academy in partnership with Wakefield College, we strive to deliver Rugby League to as many girls as possible.

The Foundation’s partnership will support each step of the Female Player Pathway and, in particular, will allow the distribution of branded balls and bibs in our Partner Secondary Schools, to ensure a Rugby League legacy following the completion of our delivery blocks.

In addition, Novus Health will support the further professionalisation of our ASUS Emerging Player Pathway, by providing highly-skilled and qualified physiotherapist support at training sessions, festivals and internal matches.

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation Women & Girls Player Pathway Co-Ordinator, Jacob Holmes, said: “We’re really pleased to welcome Novus Health as the new Principal Partner of Women & Girls Rugby League here at the Foundation.

“The support from Novus Health will allow us to continue to deliver Rugby League to girls in secondary schools, which is a major step in our Pathway, working with those making their first steps into the sport or perhaps returning to the game, and directing them towards Community Clubs.

“The provision of equipment, such as balls and bibs, will ensure that the Wakefield Trinity brand remains in schools following our delivery blocks and will be a significant long-term benefit to the growth of the girls game.

“We’re also really thankful to Novus for their forthcoming support with our open-access ASUS EPP programme, which is open to all girls of a secondary school age. Novus will be providing specialist staff to provide physiotherapy at the sessions, which is incredibly beneficial to both the coaching staff and the players.”

Novus Health Chief Executive, Luke Streeting, added: “Here at Novus Health, we were really keen to support the work of the Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation and we’re delighted to be able to do so as Principal Partner of Women & Girls Rugby League.

“It’s really important to us as a care provider in Wakefield, that we work closely with our local community and I think it’s really exciting to be able to support the Women’s and Girls Rugby League in our region.

“The partnership will support Jacob and his team coaching within Secondary Schools, for girls in Years 7 to 11, during term time, providing resources and equipment to help facilitate that delivery and we’re hopeful that this is something we can engage with for the next three to four years.

“The other major element of the partnership is the EPP programme, during the school holidays. Here at Novus, we have rehab instructors, health coaches and physio therapists who are really keen to get involved in supporting that programme.”
