Foundation & MY Hospitals Charity help celebrate NHS 75

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation is delighted to partner with MY Hospitals Charity as the NHS celebrates its 75th Birthday.

Over the past year, Trinity & MY Hospitals Charity have worked closely on a range of projects, starting with a charity bike ride back in October as they continued their MRI Scanner appeal, our World Book Day appeal, Nuffield Health Easter Egg drop and most notably, Walk withy Wakey, back in April.

Over this time, the Foundation has built up a great repour with the charity and it is clear to see the difference they are making to the lives of those spending time in Pinderfields Hospital.

Now, as they celebrate the NHS’s 75th anniversary, MY Hospitals charity will be hosting several activities with the club throughout the week. This is starting with another charity exercise bike ride on Wednesday, 5th July in the hospital’s atrium, supported by Wakefield Trinity Men’s & Ladies’ players.

Then, on Friday, 7th July 2023 ahead of our game with Wigan Warriors, the charity will be supplying a number of volunteers to collect donations throughout the game to support their work in Wakefield Pontefract and Dewsbury.

Graphics and text donation numbers will be appearing throughout the night on the Club’s big screen, so we are asking supporters to donate what they can to support a worthwhile cause. The Club will also be donating 75 tickets to NHS workers for the evening as well as inviting personnel from MY Hospitals Charity to our Foundation hospitality box.

Speaking on the partnership, Foundation Media & Commercial Executive, William Moore, said, “We are really pleased to be working with MY Hospitals Charity for the NHS’s 75th Birthday.

“Having been on visits to Pinderfields Hospital multiple times over the past couple with the club, it is clear to see how much hard work and dedication goes into the care and support they provide.

“I ask anyone who has any spare change to bring it with them to the game on Friday and donate to this important cause.”

While, Keith Ramsey, Chairman of MY Hospitals Charity, followed, “Here at the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, we would like to thank Wakefield Trinity for joining us in celebrating and supporting 75 years of the NHS.

“We are so grateful for the Foundation’s continued support, not only to our patients but to our hardworking staff also. The opportunity for staff to visit a Wakefield Trinity Rugby game during the NHS 75th Birthday week is absolutely amazing and will be greatly appreciated.”
