Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation has formulated a partnership with ‘MY Hospitals Charity’, for the benefit of Pinderfields Hospital ahead of World Book Day 2023.
MY Hospitals Charity supports and enhances the services provided by The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, which provides care to over half a million people every year in their homes, in the community and across three hospital sites.
World Book Day is celebrated this year on Thursday 2nd March 2023. Each year, as a Foundation, we try to run an inclusive event in schools for events, however, this year we have decided to take a different approach.
We, therefore, will be asking all our supporters, sponsors and partnered schools to assist us in a ‘Book Collection’, with all books donated over this period going to the Children’s Ward at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield.
Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation will be running the collection at our next home game against Huddersfield Giants on Friday 2nd March 2023, with any book donations being greatly appreciated, and can be handed in at the three collection points highlighted below.
- Club on-site stadium ticket office
- West Stand Turnstiles
- North Stand Turnstiles
Once the collections have taken place, we will be handing all of the books over to MY Hospitals Charity with the support of the Wakefield Trinity First Team.
Speaking on the initiative, Head of Education & Health, Luke Shale, said, “We are delighted to bring together all of the Wakefield community, including our 20+ partnered schools, to help MY Hospitals Charity collect reading material for the children of the Pinderfields Hospital.
“Using the club’s brand, the Foundation is all about making a difference and what better way than using the power of World Book Day. All support on this project is much appreciated and we can’t wait to see what gets brought in!”
