“I’m absolutely delighted to not only be nominated but to also make the shortlist to the final 3”
Over the past few years, we have watched our team grow and develop.
LDSL is an excellent inclusion section of rugby league which offers participants the chance to make new friends and play in some great locations such as Anfield, St James Park and possibly Elland Road @ Magic weekend events.
“I’m just glad I can make a difference to such a great bunch of people”
Foundation Rugby League Inclusion Officer Charlie Doherty expressed his delight with Gareth recognition and spoke about his unwavering commitment to his team but also to the Foundation on first team match days.
“We have nominated Gareth for this award for his outstanding contribution to our disability programmes and the club.
Gareth has been the Learning Disability coach since its inception and during his time the team has gone from strength to strength. Gareth’s family are also a major part of our disability programmes with his wife Clare and son Sid assisting with the LD team and daughter Chloe playing for the LD team.
Gareth also helps us on first team matchdays, assisting with the running of pre-game festivals and halftime activities.
Gareth really is a credit to Wakefield Trinity and our disability rugby programmes and his outstanding work is massively appreciated.”
