Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation was delighted to support our Official Health Partner, Nuffield Health, with their drop off of hundreds of Easter Eggs to Pinderfields Hospital.
Following months of work with MY Hospitals Charity, most recently with our annual fundraiser, Walk with Wakey, the Foundation was pleased to accept Nuffield’s invitation to help them collect Easter Eggs for the children of Pinderfields Hospital.
Having run the appeal over the last couple of weeks, the Healthcare Charity was inundated with hundreds of kind donations, showing further how incredibly generous the Wakefield community can be following the Foundation’s book appeal in March.
With the help of Wakefield Trinity men’s players Renouf Atoni & Lee Gaskell, members of the club, Nuffield & MY Hospitals Charity, those spending time away from their loved ones this Easter was offered some tasty treats as we made our way through the Children’s Ward, hopefully spreading some joy along the way.
With over 250 Easter Eggs dropped off, Deputy General Manager at Nuffield Health (Wakefield), Jac Verschuere, said “We were blown away by the generosity from our Nuffield Health members over the Easter period.
“In total, we managed to collect over 250 Easter Eggs for the children at Pinderfields Hospital, which is incredible, and I was lucky enough to see the smiles that it put on their faces during our visit.
“We would like to thank the Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation for their time and support which I am sure made the day memorable for the children we saw, and also to the MY Hospitals Charity team members Callum and Kiera for arranging our visit.”
Whilst Keith Ramsay, Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust Chair and MY Hospitals Charity Chairman followed, “‘It is amazing to see the combined effort of Nuffield Health Wakefield and Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation for this amazing donation to our Pinderfields Children’s Ward over the Easter period.
“Not only will this bring smiles to our youngest patients, but will also be greatly appreciated by their parents and families during their stay at hospital.”
