England Futures call-ups for Wheelchair stars

September 26, 2024

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation are delighted to announce that five Wheelchair stars have been selected for the England Futures Programme ahead of matches next month.

Emma Haigh, Kate Haigh and Bev Walker have earned call-ups to the Women’s Futures Programme squad while youngsters Sid Ramsey and Amy Scaife have been selected in the Juniors set-up.

The two new-look sides will take part in their first training sessions next month before competing in Representative matches at Wigan’s Robin Park Arena on Saturday 26th October.

The Junior Representative match will take place at 11am before the Women’s Representative match kick-offs at 12.15pm.

The two contests will serve as curtain raisers ahead of the blockbuster international clash between reigning world champions England and France in a repeat of the 2022 World Cup Final.

The international call-ups follow Wakefield Trinity Wheelchair’s first season in the Championship East this year, having launched in 2022.
