From September 2024 we will be launching our Emerging Player Pathway for all community players aged 11-16.
This comprehensive program will focus on developing all players, regardless of ability and keeping them engaged in the sport through a fluid talent pathway.
Starting at high school year 7, players will come to organised and forward-thinking Wakefield Trinity sessions+ playing opportunities with an emphasis on enjoyment, small sided games and core skill development.
Once players hit high school year 9, they’ll be funnelled into the appropriate playing program for them, keeping the opportunity to progress into the professional set up open for as long as possible- combatting the traditional post U14 drop off.
Through this program we hope to minimise player drop off, continue providing exciting developmental opportunities and keep as many players as possible progressing with their rugby through to U18.
We are looking for a number of coaches who wish to join us on this journey from our local community clubs and schools. Coaches who come on board with us will gain access to in house CPD, gain coaching skills and knowledge to take back and enhance their community teams, have the opportunity to work with and observe professional rugby coaches, and begin working their way up the ladder into the professional game.
