CONNOR BAILEY SIGNS THREE-YEAR DEAL WITH FIRST TEAM!

April 24, 2019

Fresh from appearing for Yorkshire in their win over Lancashire last weekend, 18-year-old Connor Bailey has signed a 3-year deal with his hometown club, Wakefield Trinity!

Bailey, who has come through the youth ranks, is currently in his second year in the academy and has impressed everybody with his skill set and all round game. He currently plays at loose forward but is just as comfortable playing in the back row, centre and halfback.

Head of Youth, Mark Applegarth said:

“I’m delighted we have tied Connor down to a long-term deal similar to Yusuf Aydin and Jack Croft. He has such a well-rounded skill set for his age which makes him very versatile and has the attitude to match. I’m looking forward to seeing him progress after his studies and I think he’s got a great future moving forward.”

Bailey signed for Trinity from Shaw Cross, who have a rich history in player production.
Head Coach Chris Chester was delighted to secure another homegrown talent to his ranks:

“I have been watching Connor with interest all year! He impressed me in a
reserve game at Hull at the start of the year when he played a very mature game for
his age against strong Hull team. He has all the attributes to be successful in Super
League and the challenge for Connor once he finishes his exams will be to make that
transition over the next few years. I’m looking forward to working with him”.
