Arona to remain at Trinity until the end of 2022!

Tinirau Arona has signed a new three-year contract to keep him in the Red, White & Blue until the end of 2022!

Arona joined Trinity ahead of the 2016 season and has been a massive part of the squad since arriving with his consistent performances.

The 30-year-old has featured 105 times for Trinity, scoring six tries along the way.

Arona’s season was cut short earlier on in the year, after rupturing his ACL against Huddersfield in May. However, his rehab is going well and he’s looking forward to returning in 2020!

Arona is delighted to be staying at the club and said:

“We’re at a time where players want to stay here at Wakefield because they believe we have what it takes to be successful. I have to stay, I don’t want to miss the party!

“I honestly just want to win. I desire lifting a trophy. I’ll do everything I can to lift a trophy before I leave Wakefield.”

Head Coach, Chris Chester, added:

“It’s great news for everybody that T has extended his deal. He’s a big part of the squad and has been outstanding for us over a long period of time.

“You don’t realise how important he is until he’s not out on the field. We’re missing him out there and I know he’s raring to go in 2020!”
