Abraham Bros Sign New Deals

April 14, 2026

Wakefield Trinity have agreed new deals with the brother duo, Charlie and Corey Abraham.

Older brother, Charlie has signed his first full time deal, agreeing a one-year contract that has seen him training alongside the First Team. Exciting prospect, Corey, has agreed a new five-year deal with the club securing his future

Charlie rejoined Wakefield Trinity last season, joining our Reserves side where he has starred ever since, helping them to an unbeaten start in 2026. The halfback/loose forward initially came through Trinity’s Academy system before heading travelling. His performances have impressed his peers as well earning Player’s Player of the Year for the Reserves. The older Abraham appeared for Trinity in pre-season friendlies against Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR and also has played in the Betfred Championship on loan with Dewsbury Rams.

Corey is seen as one of the top prospects in Wakefield’s Academy and tying the youngster down to a long term deal shows intent from Trinity. The loose forward stepped up into the Academy this year, joining from the club’s Scholarship side. Young Abraham also appeared in Wakefield’s pre-season friendly against Hull KR and has played alongside his brother in Trinity’s Reserve side along with appearances for the Academy.

Charlie Abraham said: “It’s been a long, weird journey to get to this point but to go full time and at Wakefield I really couldn’t be happier. The past 12 months I’ve had here under Danny Kirmond and the rest of the coaching staff has really pushed me to believe that I can do this full time so it’s about kicking on now and pushing for that Super League debut.

Corey Abraham said: “I’m really pleased to have my future sorted out here at Wakefield. This is the club I’ve supported since I was around four years old and it’s the club I want to be at. Knowing I’m here for the next few years and where the club is heading is great. It’s pretty surreal learning from people like Mike McMeeken, Tom Johnstone and Jazz Tevaga with them having so much experience.

Director of Rugby, Ste Mills said: “Giving Charlie an opportunity to take a step into our full time environment was one we were delighted to offer him. He’s taken it with both hands and dived straight into applying himself. There are real positive signs from Charlie.

Tying Corey down to a long term deal was a priority of ours, working with John Bastian & Simon Bell we see Corey as a long term integral piece of our squad. Corey is developing week on week, and we are very excited to see where he can take his game to in the near future.”
