WE’RE HIRING – Hospitality Business Development Manager

Wakefield Trinity are looking to recruit a highly efficient and competent Business Development Manager to drive the conference, events and non-matchday business.

 

There are regular events being held at DIY Kitchens Stadium already, but we want someone to take it to its maximum capacity and turn it into the premier choice for venues in the area.

 

You will be the first port of call for venue enquiries. Some will be reactive; some will be proactive. We’re looking for someone with event experience, ideally in a venue setting. You will be familiar with the P&L and have the commercial acumen to make a space like this a real success.

 

Key Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):

  • Unearth new sales opportunities through networking and turn them into long term partnerships
  • Oversight and overall responsibility for conference and event sales at Wakefield Trinity outside of matchdays.
  • Build strong relationships and develop new client accounts.
  • Focus on sourcing new business and creating own appointments and lead generation
  • Work with both corporate clients and agencies to deliver new business target
  • Develop a regular calendar of events to bring continued business and clients to the venue.
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure all content (pictures and video) are updated to showcase events and the venue.
  • Support management & delivery of commercial related events such as Partner Events, Networking / Fayres and End of Season Awards.
  • Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly sales activity report for the senior leadership team.
  • Ensure all finances and invoicing is up to date and accurate.
  • Review current processes, to ensure contract and terms and conditions are up to date and accurate.
  • Achieve KPI’s as set and agreed with the club CEO
  • Work as a team player with all departments, including onsite financial controller including reporting and budget control.
  • Ensure all leads and activities are continuously followed up to maximise revenue conversion.
  • To demonstrate the ability to negotiate rates and secure business, by understanding the needs of the customer and deliver them in a commercial and practical manor, while ensuring agreed margins are maximised.

 

Requirements:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a sales or account management environment in the venue sales or hospitality industry
  • Proven experience of meeting and exceeding targets and KPIs
  • Ability to build strong and long-lasting relationships
  • Effective communication skills both written and oral
  • A self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work flexibly with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Outgoing personality, with an interest in hospitality and growing a business

 

Hours of work:

You will be required to work between 09:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday, and you will be expected to work as reasonably as required to fulfil the needs of the business. The successful application may be required to work on home match days, both evening and weekends from time to time.

 

The role will be predominantly office based, however some travel and remote working will be necessary.

 

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

 

Salary: £35,000.00 per year
