‘Team Mate’ launched in support of men’s mental health!

‘Team Mate’ is a men’s mental fitness and well-being programme that will run on a weekly basis at the Mobile Rocket Stadium with specialist support from Talking point. The Team Mate programme using the power of rugby league will help break the stigma and challenges of mental health within males.

The supportive friendly atmosphere that will be welcoming for all men will be delivered by our partners Talking point and focus on bespoke weekly “rounds” for all to openly discuss.

As a key provider of mental health support in Wakefield, Turning Point Talking Therapies are all too aware that there is a need to address mental health in and associated with sport. To explore and address these concerns within the district, they are proud to be partnering with Wakefield Trinity to assist in delivering their emotional well-being project. It is their hope that this collaboration will be a positive step in the journey to break the stigmas surrounding seeking support, and help individuals to begin openly talking about the problems that they face with their mental health. They will be offering insight into certain conditions and encourage individuals to find their voice. Struggling in silence need no longer be the only option.

Sessions will run every Tuesday from 6pm at the Mobile Rocket Stadium.

We would invite all men to contact us for further information and register to become one of our Team mates here at Wakefield Trinity by contacting james.stephenson@wakefieldtrinity.com
