Match Preview – Salford Red Devils v Wakefield Trinity

Wakefield Trinity will make the journey across the M62 to the AJ Bell Stadium to face Salford Red Devils on Sunday June 4, kick-off 3pm.

The last time both sides met was back in March at the Beaumont Legal Stadium, it was a close encounter but Trinity got the win by just two points.

Wakefield Trinity go into the game on the back of six successive victories, however five changes have been made to the side that got the win over Wigan Warriors on Bank Holiday Monday. Unfortunately, Jacob Miller suffered a broken leg and is expected to be out for six to 12 weeks, he has been joined on the sidelines by new signing Adam Walker who has a medial rupture and Tinirau Arona who has torn his hamstring.

Captain Danny Kirmond and Scott Grix also miss out on selection for Sunday’s fixture; they have been replaced by Ben Jones-Bishop, Keegan Hirst, Max Jowitt and Jordan Crowther. Chris Annakin has also been names in Chester’s 19-man squad and is in contention of making his first Super League appearance this season.

Opponents, Salford Red Devils who currently sit in the second spot of the Betfred Super League table, four points clear of Trinity have won their last seven fixtures.

Salford Head Coach, Ian Watson has made just the one change to his 19-man squad that faced Warrington Wolves on Monday. Mark Flanagan has been replaced by George Griffin.
