Match Preview: Castleford Tigers v Wakefield Trinity

This evening’s Betfred Super 8s fixture will see Wakefield Trinity make the short journey to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle to face neighbours Castleford Tigers, kick-off 8pm.

There is a lot riding on this fixture for both sides, a win for Trinity could see them go one point behind Hull FC sitting in third position and remain in fourth. However a win or draw for the Tigers would see them being awarded the League Leaders Shield this evening.

Both sides go into tonight’s game on the back of a victory; Trinity got a win over rivals Leeds Rhinos at the Beaumont Legal Stadium last Thursday night, whilst Castleford Tigers got their win away from home against Salford Red Devils.

Previous fixtures between both clubs this season has gone in the favour of opponents Castleford Tigers. It was an extremely tight contest just one month ago at the Beaumont Legal Stadium, however the Tigers got the two points with a drop goal right on the full time hooter.

Chris Chester has made two changes to his side that got the win over Leeds Rhinos; Craig Huby makes a return from injury and is joined by Mason Caton-Brown who missed out on selection last week. The players to miss out are James Hasson and Joe Arundel.

Castleford Tigers will see the return of Junior Moors, Greg Eden and Andy Lynch.
