Job Description Job Title: Wakefield Trinity Junior Academy Physiotherapist (U16s)

We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our dynamic and experienced medical team, within this historic Super League club. We would like to recruit a physiotherapist with experience in professional team sport who would display a good knowledge of Rugby League. The right candidate will be committed to the further development of the club, able to challenge current working strategies, be dynamic and flexible in their approach.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Implementation of the medical plan for Academy squad players
• Provide accurate diagnosis and treatments of players
• Formulate and implement rehabilitation/prehabilitation programmes
• Complete accurate documentation on our electronic database in accordance with CSP/HCPC standards
• Screening of Junior Academy squad players 3 x per Week
• Liaise regularly with medical & coaching department re: progress of injured players
• Provide match day cover and pitch side for all Academy matches
• Work closely with Strength and Conditioning staff re: progression and implementation of programmes
• Assist Pre-Season screening of both Senior & Junior Academy squad players
• Keep up to date with current/best practice

Applicant requirements Essential:

 

 

• BSc Physiotherapy with a minimum of one year postgraduate experience working in musculoskeletal physiotherapy
• CSP registration
• HCPC registration
• Evidence of working as a physiotherapist in a high standard of competitive sport
• Experience of taping/strapping
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels

Highly desirable: 

• Good knowledge/understanding of Rugby League
• Evidence of working as a physiotherapist in elite/professional sport, particularly rugby league.
• IMMOFP qualified
