Luke Hooley puts pen to paper on a two and half year deal at Wakefield Trinity with the option of a further year.
Hooley, 18, who has signed his first professional contract, has been at Trinity since the close season after joining the U19s as a free agent.
The fullback has been exceptional in the U19s fixtures scoring five tries in seven games and is also a prolific goal kicker too.
Luke Hooley is delighted to have signed a deal, he said, “I am absolutely thrilled, it is a dream come true and it is something I have wanted since I was six years old.
“It was a bit out the blue, I was asked to come down to training with the first team for a week, after speaking to John Kear and Chris Chester, they said they were looking to keep me on a long term deal.
“It is tough, a lot more physical and intense but that is how you get better as a player and hopefully improve.”
Head Coach Chris Chester said, “Luke is exceptional young talent, he has had a number of good performances for the u19s this year. He has adapted to full time training with the first team really well which is something that can be challenging.
“I am looking forward to working with Luke in the future and see him grow in confidence and as a player. He is an exciting young talent that will fit in perfectly in our squad.”
