Wakefield Trinity to re-launch the fit club.

The fitness programme was originally launched in June 2015 as ‘Give Us a Try: Manage Your Weight’ project which was a unique partnership between Wakefield Council.

The initial programme was to run for 24 weeks, since the partnership with the council ended, Wakefield Trinity continued to deliver the project throughout the past two years. After the success of this, the club are delighted to re-launch it as their new revamped fitness and wellbeing programme ‘Fit Club’ which will be led by the club’s community department.

The programme is now open to both men and women aged 16 and over who are looking to increase their participation in activities and healthy living for weight loss. The programme will also focus on setting goals, monitoring eating and physical activity and to obtain assistance in making long-term changes to maintain losses.

It is open to all abilities whether you want to take part in your first ever fitness session or if you have been in the gym before, it is a great way to keep fit and active whilst having fun with your friends.

The sessions will take place every Tuesday at Belle Vue Stadium from 6-7pm and will cost £4.50 per session or £15 upfront for four weeks.

Community Development Officer, Gareth Spedding said, “After a successful couple of years. We are delighted to have the opportunity to re-launch this fantastic fitness programme to the Wakefield District.

“It has been great to see the improvements our current participants have achieved; collectively they have lost 100 kilos which is fantastic. We look forward to welcoming more individuals to the programme.”
